The serie Close Encounter originates from an encounter with the young chimpanzee Mailaka. The serie is about how we humanize animals, but on the other hand deny emotions and qualities like ours in animals, depending on how it suits us. How else can we justify for ourselves how we use animals? While we all feel that the dividing line between human and (other) animals in fact is very thin.
